1. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CHARGE:

  • Develop marketing and communications plan for Oregon 2020 initiative.
  • Implement marketing and communications plan for Oregon 2020 (website, presentation slides, video, etc.)
  • Develop marketing and communications plan for division of Student Affairs.

2. PROGRESS MADE TO DATE:

  • Planning/Organization
    • Weekly meetings beginning February 18 (agendas in Sharepoint: Agendas)
    • Chair (Tenaya) attending Residential University (Oregon 2020) Committee monthly meetings
      • Chair (Tenaya) On Define/Identity Subcommittee
    • Created resource binder with assigned background reading on marketing theory and marketing for higher education (in Sharepoint: Shared Documents)
      • Developed “cliff’s notes” for key take aways (in Sharepoint wiki)
    • Project schedule and GANT chart created (in Sharepoint: Shared Documents)
  • Oregon 2020 Marketing and Communications
    • Outline created for Oregon 2020 Marketing Plan (in Sharepoint wiki)
    • First draft of some sections of Oregon 2020 Marketing Plan (in Sharepoint wiki)
    • Brainstorming re: identity, target markets, and positioning for Oregon 2020
    • Collected architectural renderings from EMU, Rec Center, Housing, and Campus Planning for potential use in Oregon 2020 promotion (in Sharepoint: Shared Documents)
    • Commissioned architect to create renderings that demonstrate the spatial concepts and possibilities suggested by the Oregon 2020 Initiative
      • Subcommittee created to handle rendering direction: Mike Eyster, Tenaya Meaux, and Gary Moye, Architect
      • Two planning meetings plus tour of key campus locations completed
    • Research on similar initiatives to Oregon 2020 by other institutions
