Robin Holmes’ vita
Dr. Robin Holmes became Vice President for Student Affairs on July 15, 2007. A licensed clinical psychologist, Robin has worked at the UO since 1992, serving as Interim Dean of Students from 2005-2007 and Director of the University Counseling and Testing Center from 2000-2007. In April, Robin was named one of 39 American Council on Education Fellows for 2007. Robin holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology and received master’s and bachelor’s degrees from California State University, Fullerton.

Deb Chereck has served as Director of the UO Career Center since 2004. Previously she served as the Director of Business Career Services at the UO Lundquist College of Business with primary attention to the MBA population (1997-2004) and Associate Director of the UO Career Center (1980-96). Deb has also served as the President of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (2005-08). She holds a Educational Specialist degree in Counseling and a M.Ed. degree in Student Personnel Administration from Kent State University in OH and a B.A. from Elmira College in NY.

John Duncan has served as the Director of the Holden Leadership Center since its inception in 2005. In the fall of 2008, John also became the Special Assistant to the VPSA for Fundraising and Development. Prior to coming to the UO, John worked in Student Affairs at the University of Michigan. He received a B.S. in History from Oregon State University and a M.A. in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. He is a native of Oregon and enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Mike Eyster was appointed as Director of the University Health Center on May 1, 2008, following a 17-year career as director of University Housing at the UO. Mike has also served as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs since 2001. He holds a master's degree in educational psychology and measurement and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Allen Gidley is currently serving as the Interim Director of University Housing, in addition to his duties as Sr. Associate Director. Allen has been at the UO since 1997, serving as University Housing's Director of Business Affairs, and also Associate Director.
Allen has a strong background in housing operations with experience on several Oregon campuses, in a variety of capacities including RA, Complex Director, Director of Residential Life, Housing Operations Manager, and Director of Housing.
Allen is a native of Oregon, and received his bachelor's degree from
Eastern Oregon State College.

Dr. Kerr first joined the UCTC staff in 2001 as the Director of Training. She most recently served as the interim Director of the UCTC from 2007-2008 before her appointment as the permanent director. Prior to her employment at the University of Oregon, Dr. Kerr served as staff psychologist at Washington State University Counseling Service Center. Dr. Kerr achieved her bachelor degree in Communication/Business at Greenville College; a master's degree in College Student Personnel at Western Illinois and her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Washington State University in 1997. She holds a license in Oregon to practice psychology. Shelly is a member of ACCTA (Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies), AUCCCD (Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors), and NWCCD (Northwest Counseling Center Directors) and has worked as a trainer for the Center on Diversity and Community on cultural competency issues on our campus.

Dusty Miller has served as the Director of the Erb Memorial Union at the University of Oregon since 1992. He has worked in university union and student activities administration since 1971, including positions at SUNY Buffalo, East Stroudsburg University, and Loyola University of New Orleans. Dusty received his undergraduate degree in History and his graduate degree in Student Personnel Administration.

Dennis Munroe has served as Director of Physical Education and Recreation since 2000. He first came to UO in 1988 to serve as Aquatics Director, then spent eight years at Oregon State University in campus recreation administration before returning to UO. Previously, Dennis served at several institutions as a physical educator and recreation administrator (1973-1988). He holds a master’s degree in Education from University of Dayton.

Dr. Paul Shang became Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students in
April 2009 and has extensive experience in student affairs primarily in
the areas of serving students of color, student satisfaction and
retention, academic advising, first year seminars, student conduct, and
orientation. Paul holds a master's degree and Ph.D. in Philosophy from
Florida State University as well as a bachelor's degree in Government
and Philosophy. He has received national recognition for his work and
is a past president of ACPA, College Student Educators International.

Kathie Stanley directs the Vice President’s administrative staff, and provides a broad range of executive support to the vice president in the areas of budget, personnel, operations, and information management. She began her career at the UO as Assistant to the Director of Admissions in 1986, and has worked for the Vice President’s office since 2002. Kathie has a B.S. in Journalism/Public Relations from the UO.

Debbie Turetzky has served as executive assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs since October 2007. She joined the University of Oregon in January 2006, providing administrative support at the Center on Teaching and Learning. Prior to joining the university, she provided executive level administrative and project support to the founders of a start-up management consulting firm committed to creating sustainable breakthrough performance in San Francisco, California and Austin, Texas. Debbie is thrilled to be back on the west coast and to call Eugene home.
